I am a loyal Mercedes owner and have been 30+ years. I have purchased MBs from all over the country. Every now and then, unforeseen things arise and you need help from the dealership. About a week ago I bought a CPO car for cash remotely and paid full price plus shipping. It was a gift for my wife, and she just wasn’t a fan of the car. I immediately called them and asked if they would take the car back and allow me to pay whatever it took so they would not be out of pocket. I got a hard no. So there is a dealer in my city who agreed to take the car on consignment and needed the dealership to help him with the transaction. Another hard no. Their advice to me: trade it in on what you want, you won’t take much of a hit. “There is nothing we can do to help you.” Which is a lie. They could have helped but they didn’t want to. 5 years ago I bought a MB from a dealer in Orlando, there were issues with the car, and they took it back— they did the right thing even though they could have said no. MB St Charles is good at saying no. Everything is nice until something comes up after the sale and you need their help. You wont get it. Sometimes you do the thing that helps a customer, even when you don’t have to. That is going over and beyond, but sadly these guys don’t even know what that means. Buyer Beware of this pathetic dealership.

Andrew was incredibly professional, personable, & he is one of the most knowledgeable car experts we've met. He seemed to know everything about the models we were interested in (pros & cons), even those we were considering from other dealers. Andrew never once disparaged his competitors, or other makes/models we were comparing to the Mercedes. He treated my wife as an equal with all the respect one would expect. I only call that out because every other time we've purchased a car together, at some point the salesmen would always defer to the 'man'.
Although we were leaning towards buying a Porsche, with plans to visit another dealer that day, we never made it out the door. Andrew let the car sell itself, politely answering questions & further establishing his credibility & that of the entire dealership.
The car we were interested in was already competitively priced, but I have a natural aversion to paying 'list price' for anything. At the same time, I'm not a big fan of haggling! Fortunately, there was no 'stiff-arm' sales tactics & the Sales Manager (Allan) worked with me on the price & made me feel comfortable that I was getting a great deal on a great car. After deciding to purchase, Allan & Andrew introduced us to Gene to finalize the paperwork. This is typically where all the high-pressure sales tactics & upselling come into play, but with Mercedes of St Charles, this never happened. Gene did offer us a few options to consider, but there was no hard-selling involved, only data points with clear context, & how related decisions would impact the purchase price or payment. Best - Gene was able to provide us with a better rate & the entire transaction only took 30~ minutes to complete! Similar to our experience with Andrew, working with Gene was the 'best' buying experience we've had purchasing a new car.
Worth noting, before we left to drive our new car home, I noticed a small, but deep scratch on the back of the car. Even after I showed my wife, it was tough for her to see. It was not a 'deal breaker' but I shared my concern with Allan. I was expecting him to push back & explain it away or try to convince me that the scratch was not noticeable. Instead, Allan immediately called "his guy" who was not even working that day. Allan sent him a picture over the phone & within 15 minutes his guy drove to the dealership & fixed the scratch as though it had never existed!
I rarely write reviews & this is a LONG one, but we had such a terrific buying experience at Mercedes of St Charles, it's worth telling others. We will buy more cars in the future & this dealership will be the first one we visit. Well done!

Mercedes Benz of St. Charles is everything I could ask for in a dealership. Every time I've wheeled with their service department, the team is professional, courteous, and thorough in their explanation of work being done and related costs. They are up front about what is critical versus optional. They keep me updated in the timeline for completion, provide a clean new model loaner while working on my vehicle, and the waiting area is cheerful and comfortable.

We brought it in for service and you never serviced it. We wanted the oil changed and make sure everything was good because we are taking it on vacation and putting about 5,000. miles on it. We didn't notice it until we got home and we live in Newark.
MB of St Charles personnel are attentive, friendly and helpful. After bringing my car in for service I was quickly greeted and advised I would see someone soon after my car was checked in. I would be met in the waiting area which was clean and comfortable although the snacks were not quite as good as the dealership next door. Just sayin’.
Very easy to make a service appointment. Friendly, professional and knowledgeable service advisor (Dean Pontrelli). I always feel valued and respected as a customer. Car returned clean and when promised.
Very friendly staff, was greeted with smile. Service Rep explained all the work in detail and other recommendations. I was going to wait, but asked for a loaner and the rep was able to help me out and provided a loaner for me so I didn't have to wait. Great service.

Good service experience in general. My GLS had an engine oil leak after the first visit (defective engine oil drain plug gasket). The following day, my vehicle was picked up at my office and returned to me later in the day after the leak was repaired

After the documents were successfully emailed, I noticed that I was charged sales tax. As a New York resident, tax is paid at DMV for Illinois vehicle purchases. Left Gene as voicemail regarding the oversight. Had to call him as he hadn't returned my call. When I reached him, he immediately cut me off. He said, "let me explain something to you", like I'm some kind of idiot, no you didn't pay sales tax. I said, look at the bill of sale. He came back and said, yes the girl in the office must of made a mistake. No apology. He said he'd overnight a check. It came the next day minus the overnight fee. Not my mistake. The dealership should have paid the overnight fee. If I have an occasion to do business with the dealership again, I do not want to work with Gene Woods!

Have been having my cars serviced at this dealership for the past seven years and have always received excellent service. Professional and courteous staff from drop off, service adviser consultation and check out all are top notch personnel. The facilites are excellent as well from the showroom to the customer lounge to the service and billing area.
Their Service Department is top notch. I am always well taken care of. This time was no exception, as I had a warning message pop up about a malfunction in my right blinker and headlight. I was given a loaner while they did troubleshooting, discovered the issue, and fixed it. Everything was covered under warranty. They are always so professional and courteous.
Greeted promptly on arrival, were ready to receive my car, and was escorted to my service rep. Had a loaner car ready for my use and it was clean and ready to go! They gave me an estimate of the service I needed, and the final bill was less. First rate facility, clean, easy to get to and very comfortable waiting area. The people are fantastic!

My family and I were leaving that morning for a road trip. As I was packing the car I noticed the sidewall of one of the tires was faulty. I called the service dept. at Mercedes Benz of St. Charles and they were able to fit me in and get. new tire installed on my vehicle within an hour and a half. My family and I left on time for our trip.
